TEAM INFO
LSU Club Tennis is an LSU student run tennis club under the USTA Tennis On Campus program that practices and competes nationally against other college and university club tennis programs. Our focus is on building friendships, competing on a national level, and providing an enriching experience.
PRESIDENT: Derek Daigle is a graduate student from Houston, Texas studying Accounting. He started playing tennis his freshman year of high school. He has also taught both adults and juniors of all levels. Throughout his career at LSU, Derek has participated on the club team and served several officer positions.
PRESIDENT: Peter Wan is a senior from Birmingham, AL studying petroleum engineering. This is his fourth year on the club tennis team. He also works at the UREC as a tennis instructor.
VICE PRESIDENT: Austin is a junior pursuing a degree in ISDS at LSU. He has been on the club team since freshman year and started playing tennis his sophomore year of high school.
VICE PRESIDENT: Christopher Callan is a junior studying computer science and has been playing tennis for 5 years. Since then, he has taught tennis camps and other tennis players, as well as had his own success in USTA and local tournaments in his hometown. He has been a member of the LSU Club Tennis Team since his freshmen year and looks forward to this upcoming year.
TREASURER: Hallo Zusammen! Michael is a Junior from Linz, Austria. He has been playing for over 10 years and is a passionate player. He never misses a practice and always wants to hit when the weather makes it possible. His favorite surface is clay, as he played for most of his life on it. His favorite shot is the backhand and he loves playing doubles. Michael still plays men’s tournaments back home and won regionals as a under 18 year old.
HEAD OF FUNDRAISING: Chris Mai is a junior working towards a double degree in Mathematics and Mechanical engineering. He has played racquet sports from a very young age, and teaches tennis at the Lamar Tennic Center. He has been a member of the Club Team from the start of his enrollment at LSU.
MERCHANDISE CHAIR: Samantha Webb is a senior from Katy, Texas studying biology. She began playing tennis at an early age and even spent a summer coaching the local youths at a tennis camp. She is looking forward to a great season on the club team and making awesome memories!
