Where are you now and what are you currently up to?

I recently moved to Washington D.C. after graduation to start my career as a landscape architect. I now work for ValleyCrest: the largest privately owned landscape company in the United States. I am shared services between 6 of our offices here in the DC metropolitan area with the title of : Regional Designer. Prominent projects completed by the company include landscape work for the Bellagio Hotel and many surrounding casinos in Las Vegas, Disney's Animal Kingdom, Gaylord National Resort, and Invesco Field at Mile High Stadium. In 2009 ValleyCrest became a 1 billion dollar company and was named by Forbes as one of the nation's largest private companies.

Are you still playing tennis? If so, in what ways?

All of the time. One of my priorities when I arrived in my new city was to find some fellow players and join a league team. I play on 2 league teams and often just for fun. Luckily, I found a league team right in my neighborhood with all young professionals in the city. Half of the team lives in my apartment complex and we practice on the property. We have 6 courts on site so there is nothing nicer than just walking downstairs to practice for the night. Tennis has provided about half of my new friends since moving to DC!

What did you gain through LSU Club Tennis?

LSU Club Tennis was one of my favorite activities through college. I was lucky enough to be one year older than most of the "new era" of the club tennis team. Therefore I got to see the start of our new leaders taking over the club, and it just happened to be that those few guys who wanted to really make it something bigger and better, were some of my best friends. Through these best friends, I got to see them completely change our routines and strategies for growing, all which became widely successful. Because of this, we grew. And I had that many new amazing friends to close out the rest of college with. I don't want to make his head any bigger (if possible), but watching our past president Nick Lucidi come in as a freshmen then graduate with me, I got to transition with the team into the whole new entity we are now.

What's your favorite memory from LSU Club Tennis?

Too tough. Here's 3:

1. Any year going to Southerns. It was always a blast. We always have the most fun (I mean we're still in college!) AND kick some serious a**. Sorry we're that awesome. The outfits...the jokes...the friends (Georgia B!)...the memories. All unforgettable.
2. One of the biggest parts of my time at LSU was being a fan of the NCAA tennis team. I came into LSU and a few of my first new friends were the new guys on the team. That turned into me being a lifelong fan and the creation of the LSU Men's Team booster club (with the huge help from my mentor William Grenier). A lot of new fans were born when my friends and I decided to begin tailgating before matches. After approval from Coach Jeff Brown and Danny Bryan, the opponents began having to walk past tents, BBQ pits, coolers, and some very passionate fans into Dub Stadium. What began with just me and 5ish other friends, turned into 50 (MAINLY THE CLUB TENNIS TEAM), which turned into sponsors (Thanks Mellow Mushroom!), which is now consistently turning into 200+ fans at various matches. One highlight of this awesome time was when the University of Tennessee Coach shook my hand, told me he's never seen such things in NCAA tennis, and offered to PAY for the tailgate if we came and did it the next time LSU plays at Tennessee. That was a compliment. I couldn't have done it without some certain friends and the club team.
3. The get togethers. From going out, to the themes, to Wednesday night bowling nights, to Mardi Gras at Theo's...there's nothing better. I wouldn't miss a party at the Braud's for ANYTHING!

Any advice, suggestions, or encouragement for those interested/in LSU Club Tennis?

Join. I can't type the memories...There's far too many and far too much fun to try to explain. Just join. Friends for a lifetime. I love you guys (and party hardy)!

Where are you now and what are you currently up to?

Live in Portland, OR and am a manufacturing engineer for Georgia Pacific. Have been up here for basically 2 years now.

Are you still playing tennis? If so, in what ways?

I will never stop playing tennis, I enjoy it way too much to do so. I'm a part of this indoor racquet club. Last year I played on 4.0 team. That's the highest level a team goes at our club since there are not too many players up here due to rain 24/7. We definitely have players that could easily excel at the 5.0 level but there aren't enough players to create a 5.0 team so they're all just playing in the 4.0

What did you gain through LSU Club Tennis?

I've gained some amazing friends that I'll keep in touch with for the rest of my life. I've got to experience some of the greatest/most enjoyable tennis tournaments. You play tennis to have fun and get better, LSU club tennis definitely got my skill much better than I could have ever done on my own. I truly miss anxiously waiting for the clock to wind down so I could go to club practice.

What's your favorite memory from LSU Club Tennis?

I would say the Texas tennis on campus tourney in Austin. Not only did we win our bracket but we had a great time hanging out with the different people we met at the tournament. What I would do to be able to rewind the clock and go to practice a few times a week and those tournaments!

Any advice, suggestions, or encouragement for those interested/in LSU Club Tennis?

Go to every practice, go to every single tournament you can...those are memories that will stick around for the rest of your life. There's something amazing about the culture of LSU's club team. Not sure exactly what it is, but if I had to pick one, I would have to say the awesome people that form the club.

What did you gain through LSU Club Tennis?

During my days at LSU I had the opportunity to be the LSU Club Tennis President for a few years. That definitely will be amongst the most memorable experiences throughout my college days. It helped me develop my leadership, and social skills. LSU Club Tennis was a big influence in me. It got me involved in all campus activities and the experience guided me to be at leader at other organizations and clubs as well. Definitely shaped my personality to be an outgoing and structured person. I also got to travel throughout the country with great people from all over the world and played in many interesting tournaments. Three years after graduation I still keep in touch with many of them! I constantly think back to the days we used to organize for tournaments and practice with the team and it gives me great satisfaction to know the club is doing great.

What's your favorite memory from LSU Club Tennis?

My Favorite memory will be been the President and Captain of the LSU Club Tennis when for the First time the club won the Louisiana State Championship and a Second place at the SEC Conference tournament. Been part of the team and living that moment was amazing!

Any advice, suggestions, or encouragement for those interested/in LSU Club Tennis?

I will encourage everyone on campus to be as proactive as possible and join LSU Club Tennis. It doesn't matter what your level of tennis is, you will have a great social experience or you can choose to try to make it to the "traveling team" and compete. Get involved in the club with leadership positions and help to get the club recognized as the top Tennis Club in the country. A lot of potential at LSU with so many talented people! Goodluck!!
